Matt Duffer attends Variety's Storytellers event hosted by Netflix FYSEE at Netflix FYSEE at Raleigh Studios on June 10, 2022 in Los Angeles, California. Millie Bobby Brown attends Netflix's "Stranger Things" season 4 premiere at Netflix Brooklyn on May 14, 2022 in Brooklyn, New York. The Stranger Things creators have responded to Millie Bobby Brown’s criticism of the show not killing off enough main characters. Brown , who plays Eleven, told TheWrap in a joint interview with co-star Noah Schnapp, “We’re all afraid of one of us dying. It’s way too big. Last night, we couldn’t even take one group picture because there were like 50 of us. I was like, ‘You need to start killing people off.’” Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, added, “You just have to have one massacre scene where half the cast dies.” Millie, 18, continued to call the writers out. “The Duffer brothers are two Sensitive Sallies that don’t want to kill anyone off,” the British actress said. “We need to be Game of Thrones. We need to have the mindset of Game of Thrones.” She then demanded that the creators “kill me off,” adding, “They tried killing David [Harbour] (who plays Hopper) off and they brought him back. It’s ridiculous.” When the comments were mentioned in a new interview with the Duffer brothers, Matt Duffer defeatedly replied, “We heard,” adding, “What did Millie call us? She said we were ‘Sensitive Sallies.’ She’s hilarious. Believe us, we’ve explored all options in the writing room. Just as a complete hypothetical, if you kill Mike [Finn Wolfhard], it’s like… that’s depressing… we aren’t Game of Thrones. This is Hawkins, it’s not Westeros.” Duffer used the character of Barb (Shannon Purser) as an example, saying, “So even when Barb dies, there’s two seasons worth of grappling with that, so imagine – is that something we’re interested in exploring or not interested in exploring?” He acknowledged that more deaths are “on the table” as “we’re headed towards the end,” adding, “This is me basically defending myself against these Millie Bobby Brown accusations and explaining that there are lives behind it, and it’s nothing to do with my sensitivity. So there you go Millie.” Stranger Things season 4 is currently streaming on Netflix. The final season is expected to be released in 2024. 'Stranger Things' Season 4 Part 1: Fans React
Millie Bobby Brown speaks onstage at Netflix's "Stranger Things" Season 4 New York Premiere at Netflix Brooklyn on May 14, 2022 in Brooklyn, New York. Millie Bobby Brown had a playful reaction to German Stranger Things fans, after learning that many of them hate Finn Wolfhard’s character, Mike Wheeler. Per The Independent, during an appearance at a fan Q&A panel held as part of German Comic Con, Brown, who plays Eleven — Mike’s love interest and protagonist in the show — was shocked to discover a surprising dislike of Wolfhard’s character. One fan quizzed her about the up-and-down relationship between Eleven and Mike in season four, to which she replied, “I mean, do you like him?” When the audience member responded that they did not, she said, “What?! You don’t like Mike? In Germany, you guys don’t like Mike?” The crowd then seemed to largely share the same reply: “No.” “In America, people love Mike,” the British actress said. “Can somebody tell me why they don’t like Mike? What’s wrong with him? He’s not a good boyfriend? Is that it?” One audience member claimed that the character had been a bad friend. “Oh, he’s not a good friend?” Brown asked, then said, “Oh that’s why. Okay. There’s not much I can say about that, although Finn, he’s a great friend. He’s like the bestest friend.” Season 4 of Stranger Things is currently streaming on Netflix. The fifth and final season will start development this August, Variety reported, with show creators the Duffer brothers having Season 5 pretty much mapped out. Image Source: NetflixWith season four of "Stranger Things" finally back in our Netflix queues, one question is on everyone's minds: did Millie Bobby Brown cut her hair again for the show? And the answer to your burning question: no, she did not. "Stranger Things"'s hair department head, Sarah Hindsgaul, recently revealed some tricks she used to bring back Brown's signature buzz cut for season four without actually cutting the actor's hair."[Her hairstyle] was in a buzz-cut wig, which was very, very, very difficult to do," Hindsgaul tells POPSUGAR. "Normally, you would do that with a bald cap and then putting a wig over it, but we're very limited on time."To make the super-short hairstyle work, Hindsgaul employed some unusual methods. "Without having time to do a bald cap, we had to figure something else out. So, alongside my wig maker, we ended up using different layers of silks inside," she says. "It kind of fades out, because otherwise, the wig is so short that you could see the stitching where the wig is sewn together."Hindsgaul and her team did a fantastic job, considering we were all fooled. And bravo to Brown, the hair chameleon, for pulling it off so Additional reporting by Jessica HarringtonRelated: Hidden Hair Meanings to Look Out For on "Stranger Things"
Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown has asked bosses to “kill people off” – even Eleven’s role – after the cast of the Netflix show has grown. Schnapp then chimed in and agreed. He said: “One of us will die. Or more. The cast is so big.” The star added that during the premiere night, the size of the cast was so large, they struggled to fit in a group photo. Millie then joked: “You need to start killing people off.” She then added: “The Duffer Brothers are sensitive sallies who don’t want to kill anybody off. “We need to have the mindset of Game of Thrones. Kill me off! They tried killing David off and they brought him back!” Stranger Things Season 4 Photo by Astrid Stawiarz/Getty Images for SiriusXMThe upcoming season, which fans have been eagerly waiting for, will see their favourite characters split up. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Will (Noah Schnapp) are living in California, away from Hawkins after moving with Joyce (Winona Ryder). However, the rest of the ‘party’ are back in dreaded Hawkins where more bizarre occurences have returned. Fans also will see David Harbour return as Hopper. Viewers believed he had died at the end of the previous season. However, it seems instead he is in an impenetrable Russian prison. The show will also be released in two parts – Stranger Things 4 Part 1 premieres on May 27, whereas Part 2 arrives weeks later on July 1. MORE STRANGER THINGS: Fans have questions after Netflix drops 8-minute snippet of Stranger Things Season 4What happened to Eleven’s powers? Photo by Arturo Holmes/WireImageAnother plot move which fans will want to find answers to, is whether Eleven will regain her telekinetic powers. Towards the end of season 3, Stranger Things fanatics saw her stripped of her gifts and unable to use them. However, in the Netflix trailer which dropped last month, in a split second, we see Max (Sadie Sink) levitate. Theories have flooded online claiming that Elle’s (Eleven) powers may have somehow transported into Max during the epic showdown finale. “Struggling with the aftermath, our group of friends are separated for the first time – and navigating the complexities of high school hasn’t made things any easier,” Netflix’s official synopsis reads. “In this most vulnerable time, a new and horrifying supernatural threat surfaces, presenting a gruesome mystery that, if solved, might finally put an end to the horrors of the Upside Down.” The upcoming season will star a large ensemble cast including leading actress Millie Bobby Brown alongside Noah Schnapp (Will), Finn Wolfhard (Mike), and Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas). Also, Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin), Sadie Sink (Max), Joe Keery (Steve), Natalia Dyer (Nancy) and Charlie Heaton (Jonathon), Maya Hawke (Robin Buckley), will star. And we can’t forget Winona Ryder (Joyce) and David Harbour (Hopper). Despite it’s raving success since Season 1 first aired, this upcoming series will be the final one for Stranger Things.
